Casual Contract
We’re on the lookout for a power-savvy, food truck legislation-aware legend who can support our market team with power set-up, safety checks, and a bit of muscle.
Location: Waikato-based preferred | Casual / Event-based
Time Commitment: 2 hrs (ish) per market (2-4 pm setup)
Availability: Must be available for weekend events / event is weather dependant
What You’ll Be Doing:
Connecting food trucks and stalls to generators or on-site power
Ensuring correct cabling, load safety, and compliance with food truck legislation
Identifying and flagging non-compliant vendors when needed
Assisting with heavy lifting and setup of power gear and site infrastructure
You’ll Need:
Experience with event power, generators, caravan sockets, etc.
A solid understanding of food truck and mobile trading legislation (or willingness to learn)
Physical ability to lift/carry up to 15kgs
A proactive, safety-first mindset
To be reliable, punctual, and good under pressure
A friendly yet proactive demeanour
Bonus If You:
Have worked with food vendors or at other markets/events
Know your way around three-phase, single-phase, and caravan plugs
This is a paid, contract role. One market at a time.
There may be an opportunity to increase hours as the markets scale.
Hours of Work:
Saturdays from approximately 2pm to 4pm ish, with occasional additional hours as needed. Specific dates for Bloom Collective are as follows. Times and Dates may require flexibility on some occasions, eg weather cancellations. Please only apply if you can attend these dates:

8th November (Xmas market - requires longer hours)

11th April (Easter Market)
Compensation:
Pay rate is dependent on experience, on a contractor's agreement and will be processed following New Zealand employment standards. Alternatively, if you're self-employed, we’re happy to arrange a suitable contract and pay via invoice.
